The Language Services Unit at Széchenyi István University is committed to supporting the university's internal operations in the areas of language and culture. With the help of our experienced language teachers and native-speaking proofreaders, we offer a wide range of services to academic, research, administrative, and support staff.
Translation and proofreading
Our experts provide high-quality translation and linguistic editing of academic articles, official documents, presentations and correspondence.
Our services are available in the following languages:
English, German, French, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Russian – with particular expertise in processing professional materials in English and Chinese.
For content in English, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese, our native-speaking editors ensure accurate and culturally appropriate language usage, enhancing communication with the university’s international partners.
Internal language courses
We regularly organize internal language courses for university staff. The courses are available in various languages (primarily English and German, but occasionally other foreign languages) and range from beginner to advanced levels. Our goal is to support our colleagues’ professional development, participation in international collaborations, and confident use of foreign languages in daily work.
Welcoming and hosting domestic and foreign delegations
We consider it extremely important to support the university's international relations. Our staff actively participate in welcoming and hosting foreign delegations, ensuring smooth communication and hospitality in foreign languages.
We offer comprehensive support for visiting delegations, including:
Campus tour – an interactive presentation of the university's infrastructure, teaching and research facilities
City tours in Győr – guided tours in foreign languages showcasing the city’s historic centre and cultural landmarks, helping our guests become acquainted with the local heritage.
Our centre's mission is to support the university’s internal professional activities through language services, enhance the quality of international communication, and contribute to building an open and inclusive academic community.
