We are pleased to announce the next event of the “Hungarian Film Club” that features Hungarian movies with English subtitles in the Spring Term 2026. The goal of this initiative is to introduce you to Hungarian culture through movies.

Synopsis of the movie:
In 1848, the Habsburg Empire cast a dark shadow over Eastern Europe. When a revolution breaks out in Vienna, the news quickly reaches Pest-Buda, and Sándor Petőfi — the young, fiery poet — together with his friends, seizes the moment. They take to the streets and proclaim the Twelve Points.
Petőfi then recites his poem written for the occasion, the National Song, which soon becomes the anthem of the revolution. Meanwhile, the Austrian oppressors hire a secret agent to sabotage the uprising — and he is permitted to use any means necessary…
